Writing Prompt: What Kind of Care Do You Need?
During stressful times of life, it's extra important to check in with yourself and prioritize your own care. It doesn't do the world much good for you to be worn down and depleted.
Rather than thinking of self-care as yet another obligation, think of it as sustaining yourself so you can enjoy your life and keep doing meaningful and important things in the world. Let's explore!
ποΈπ Start by checking in and asking yourself what you need right now. What forms of self-care would help you? What kind of care do you want from others? What kind of care can you offer others that would enhance your own wellbeing, too?
ποΈπ As if you were writing a set of detailed instructions for caring for a pet, write about "the care and feeding" of you!
ποΈπ What exhausts and depletes you?
ποΈπ How do you like to recharge, recover, and revitalize?
ποΈπ Do you feel you need more rest or relaxation? What gets in the way? Can you make more room for rest?
ποΈπ Create a plan for caring for yourself. What would it be like to prioritize your own care in the months ahead? What concrete steps can you take?
ποΈπ Who in your community can support you in this?
