Writing Prompt: Slowing Down
In today's culture of hustle and grind, slowing down can sometimes feel like an impossibility. Even if we CAN slow down, we might avoid it because it can feel uncomfortable to sit with ourselves quietly.
But slowing down is necessary if we want to tune into ourselves and step out of the chronic stress of constant busy-ness. For today's prompt, let's write about slowing down.
šļøš You can use writing as a way to practice slowing down - which might be especially helpful if this is a foreign concept for you! Before you respond to the prompt, just sit quietly for a few minutes. When you write, write slowly. Notice what shows up for you, and write about that.
šļøš How do you feel about slowing down? Do you slow down sometimes? Do you want to slow down more? Do you ever avoid slowing down? What gets in the way?
šļøš When in your life have you slowed down? What's it been like when you have slowed down?
šļøš Is there anything uncomfortable about slowing down? Does constant busy-ness feel more comfortable to you?
šļøš Slowing down can help us tune into ourselves, our inner experience, our true desires. What insights about yourself arise when you slow down?
Happy writing!
